Belated Thank You to the Merchant Mariners of World War II Act of 2009
H.R. 23 was re-introduced in the 111th Congress by Bob Filner on January 6, 2009. S. 663 was introduced on March 19, 2009 by Senator Ben Nelson and 17 other Senators. Belated Thank You to the Merchant Mariners of World War II Act of 2009, provides $1,000 per month to WWII mariners (average age 84) in lieu of benefits not received after World War II.
