If your Member of Congress tells you that they will consider it when it comes to a vote, it means they are telling you NO! You need to press them to become a Cosponsor. If there are insufficient Cosponsors it will never come to a Vote!

Sample message to Delegate:
Dear (address them by first name)Please cosponsor H.R. 23, Belated Thank You to the Merchant Mariners of World War II Act of 2007, introduced by Bob Filner of California: and H.R. 447, Mariners Medal equivalent to Purple Heart for health care, introduced by Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska. Both Bills affect WWII mariners whose average age is 83.
During World War II, mariners suffered the highest rate of casualties of any armed service. After the war, they did not receive promised benefits
H.R. 23 would help make up for that in a small way, by providing $1000 per month to them and their widows.
H.R. 447 provides World War II mariners who were wounded or suffered as a result of an act of an enemy would receive eligibility for Department of Veterans Affairs health care on the same basis as those awarded the Purple Heart.
